I haven't been on here a while. I sort of abandoned the internet because I was too shattered to be bothered. I started work on Special Effects for a film called Everest. About Everest the mountain believe it or not. It was full on, hard core work; carrying 25kg bags of assorted salts (for spin drift) up a replica of the peak of Everest that was built on the 007 stage at Pinewood studios. I think we used 20+ tons of fine table salt and epsom salts. It was fun blowing salt into Jake Gyllenhaal's beardy face. His face basically oozed mucus and liquid from every orifice. During the shoot I busted my shoulder… the one that carries the arm I use that has the hand on the end. Carrying equipment and salt did it for me. I am an artist and not very good at pretending to be a fork-lift truck. Hats off to the SFX technicians who's hard labour gets lost in the haze of Computer generated effects.

While recovering from my war wound I decided to go small and start on my faerie models. I've been procrastinating about a Faerie exhibition for thousands of years… so I've started to create it.

The first one has already made a DD and isn't finished yet. It depicts the king of snails - Ri na Seilidi. To come is The Mushroom man or 'Ceann Beacán'… a seemingly popular character apparently. Basically, things that have been cooking in my head since I was shown how to suck nectar from a clover flowerhead when I was a child… don't ask.

I haven't uploaded a single things for months. I've been busy working on a movie called 'Everest'. When movie work comes along it tends to take over my life and leaves little room for whimsical art. There are some things to upload soon however.

Well I am in the middle of working on a little short movie that has been entered for the Cannes Film festival... so that's nice. Yaaaaaay.

I'm glad people like the aliens I recently uploaded. I did them back in 1996 for a Roswell 50th anniversary Alien Exhibition.

I've been really busy working on a film doing Matte paintings, so I haven't actually done any work purely for DeviantArt! The fact I keep uploading old stuff has been gnawing away at my skull. So I am part working on a few ideas for the community and part getting these Matte paintings done.

The movie is so low budget that I am practically doing them for free... but I love the director and his film is rather funny and whacked out. On top of that I can upload them here when the film is finished... so result really.

I still have lots of old work to upload... but I'm holding off in case I swamp my own page. haha

I actually would love to do some photo-manipulation tutorials and next time I work on some effects I will endeavour to create some sort of process montage of pics.

I love this place... it's full of the MOST creative people I have ever not met in person... it's overwhelmingly awesome and everybody seems wonderful and accepting.

It hurts my heart with compassion to see how many people... no matter how new to art they are or how amazing their work is... just wantonly splash their ideas around and share raw talent. It's fantastic and inspirational.
